Scottsdale Desert Tennis Retreat
Five restorative nights at a luxury desert resort, with morning tennis on immaculate hard courts and long, indulgent afternoons by the water.
The courts are at their best just after sunrise, when the hard surface still holds the night’s cool and the ball comes off it clean and true. You play in the long shadow of the resort, the desert flat and pale beyond the fence line, the only sound the steady rhythm of the rally and a sprinkler somewhere among the agave. By mid-morning the light turns white and the day asks you to slow down. So you do. There is a pool the color of deep water, shaded loungers, and a spa that smells faintly of sage. At dusk the sky does something extravagant over the saguaro, and you watch it from a quiet terrace with nowhere else to be.
How we shape it
This is a play-and-stay retreat built around the desert’s natural rhythm, and we shape every day to honor it. Tennis lives in the cool hours: private lessons one-on-one with a coach who reads your game quickly, plus small-group clinics for those who like to work alongside others. We match the intensity to you, whether you are an improver chasing a steadier backhand or a club player tightening your serve. The afternoons belong to recovery, by design. We reserve spa time, schedule nothing through the heat, and leave the pool open and unhurried. Evenings stay loose: a relaxed hit if you want one, or simply the desert sky. It suits couples, friends traveling together, and anyone who wants their tennis sharp and their days restorative in equal measure. We handle the courts, the coaching, the table reservations, and the long stretches of doing very little, so the only decision you face each morning is how many more you want to play.
Day by day
A rhythm to the days
- 01
Arrival and first light
You settle into the resort as the heat softens, walk the courts, and meet your coach over an unhurried evening.
- 02
Morning court, afternoon water
You hit at dawn on freshly groomed hard courts, then trade the racket for the spa and a long, slow pool afternoon.
- 03
Clinic and craft
A small-group clinic sharpens footwork and return, with footage reviewed quietly over iced tea once the sun climbs.
- 04
Play and pause
A private session refines one part of your game in the morning, leaving the day open for rest, reading, and shade.
- 05
A last desert morning
You play a final relaxed set as the light turns gold, then linger over breakfast before the road home.
